[Rainbow Light Love Story – VOL.1 RED]

MOORA

The snow fell in large flakes. Snowy days were warmer than other days. The air was cold, but Ryan opened the window early in the morning. The whole world had turned white. The neighborhood scene made Ryan's heart flutter.

From time to time, snowflakes fell on the windowsill. Ryan pulled the chair to the window and stepped on it. Then he put his head out of the window and stuck out his tongue. But he couldn't eat the falling snow as easily as he thought. It snowed a lot, but there was no snowflake that fell easily on his tongue. So later, he stood with his heels on. He thought it might fall on his tongue at least once.

"What are you doing now?" When his grandmother came up, she grabbed Ryan’s arm and pulled it down. Then she closed the window and latched it. The window latch was rusted and it was difficult to unlock it easily by pressing it once. Ryan was sad and went down to eat breakfast with his grandmother.

Suddenly, he wondered if Sara ever tried to eat snow. Ryan decided to ask when he meets Sara today.

"Have you ever eaten snow?”

"No?"

, Sara said. When Sara blew her breath, hot steam came out of her mouth since the dumplings were hot

"I ate snow today.”

, Ryan said excitedly. Sara gave a rough nod. Sara's interest was in eating meat dumplings. Ryan felt awkward, so he played with dirt with his shoes for no reason.

"Do you like your dumplings..."

"Does the snow taste good?"

Ryan was about to change the conversation, but Sara suddenly asked Ryan. And she looked carefully at the snow piled up on the street. It was snow by the snowplow.

"Shall we try it?”

"No, dumplings taste better.”

, Ryan waved his hand.

“I know that.”

, Sara said with a smile.

"But I want to eat snow, too."

"But you can't eat those pilled snow. It's dirty."

"That's right. But what should we do then?"

Sara put the remaining dumplings in her mouth and mumbled. Unlike Ryan, Sara took a long time to eat a dumpling. She bit it little by little and chewed it for a long time and swallowed it.

"Well, then follow me."

"Okay."

, Sara nodded her head. Ryan really liked Sara's focus on himself.

"Once it snows, look up at the sky,"

When Ryan saw the sky, Sara looked up at the sky. It was blinding.

"Put out your tongue."

"It looks like a fool.”

Sara laughed and stuck out her tongue, following Ryan.

"It's very funny."

"Is it?"

"Yes, because it's not snowing now."

Sara, who couldn't hold back her laughter, said looking at Ryan. Ryan laughed after Sara. In fact, Ryan has never thought that this was funny. He just thought it was necessary to eat the falling snow. However, it was just amazing for Ryan that he started to think it would be really funny when Sara said it was funny.

Thinking about it, Ryan was mesmerized for a moment, watching Sara take out another dumpling from a paper bag, and the figure flowed slowly like a slow motion. Sara quickly took a big bite of a dumpling to avoid being conscious of the gaze. Sara's cheeks blushed.

Suddenly, Ryan instantly captured a silhouette that was blurry behind Sara. Ryan's eyes got bigger. It was definitely Seungjae. He was hiding behind an alley a little far away, but Ryan was able to notice him quickly. Seungjae, who had eye contact with Ryan, quickly turned back and ran away. At that moment Ryan completely forgot Sara and started running after Seungjae.

Ryan's ran much faster than Seungjae, so no matter how hard Seungjae ran away, he had no choice but to catched up by Ryan quickly. Ryan grabbed Seungjae's clothes. He wanted to say something, but he couldn't think of anything right away because Seungjae was sinking his head on his chest.

"Wait a minute..."

, Ryan released Seungjae's collar that he held tightly. Seungjae looked up and barely saw Ryan. Ryan was surprised, because tears were in Seungjae's eyes.

"Why, why are you crying?”

, Ryan asked him, being at a loss. Seungjae kept his mouth firm and shook his head.

"You're not going to play with me anymore?”

, Ryan asked again. Tears welled up.

‘If I cry, Seungjae won't tell me and he'll run away again.’

Ryan tried not to cry in front of Seungjae. Seungjae was a coward. Ryan had no choice but to guess that there would be something scary again to Seungjae. Ryan waited until Seungjae opened his mouth.

"I'm sorry."

After a while, Seungjae barely said a word.

"What? It's okay."

, Ryan answered carefully. Inwardly surprised and also without knowing what he apologized for. "…Why are you sorry?”

, Ryan asked.

"Just sorry… I didn't play with you.”

"Then let's play together.”

"And,"

Ryan was fine with anything, but Seungjae seemed to be sorry again.

"And?"

"I'm sorry I lied.”

After spouting the words, Seungjae eventually shed tears.

‘When did he lie?’

Ryan agonized over Seungjae, who cried sadly.

"A lie?"

"I actually don't live here."

, Seungjae answered.

"Ah…!"

Only then could Ryan remember. When Seungjae looked at Ryan on the day when the bucket incident was happened, it wasn't a look of surprise by the water. Seungjae might surprised at Ryan appearing in the back alley of Duryu Park's building and might be embarrassed.

"What's wrong with that?"

"Well, I live in a redevelopment town...”

"Redevelopment?"

"Yeah...”

"What happens if you redevelop?"

"I don't know, but... I think it's something bad.”

Seungjae's voice gradually trailed off. Ryan's endless questions might make Seungjae embarrassed. Ryan was also a little surprised to see Seungjae being different than ever before. Ryan recalled the phrase on the banner. But as always, redevelopment or anything else was irrelevant to him. But it didn't seem like it for Seungjae.

"It's okay because you're not bad!"

Ryan squatted down and looked up at Seungjae.

"Really?"

, Seungjae asked.

"Really! So...”

, Ryan thought for a moment.

"We are friends."

, Ryan took Seungjae's hand. A white snowflake fell on the hand that he held tightly. Snowflakes fell here and there on Ryan's cheeks and Seungjae's shoes.

"It's snow..."

, Seungjae murmured. Ryan then came to his senses and noticed that he had forgotten something.

"Sara!"

Ryan took Seungjae's hand and started running toward the market. In the afternoon, there were more people and it was hard to find Sara there. Ryan looked everywhere. Then he found Sara squatting on a street near the entrance.

"Sara!"

Ryan shouted. Sara looked back and pouted out her lips.

"Where did you go?” "I'm sorry..." Su-yeon still looked sulky and Ryan was at a loss in front of her. But he thought it was a lucky she was there without going far away. If Sara had disappeared, there would have been no more dizzying situation.

"Wow, it's well-made."

, Seungjae said, glancing at what Sara made. Sara let Seungjae sit next to her as if she had been waiting.

"Wow, it's a snowman. Two snowmen?"

"Yes, I made it.”

There were two snowmen standing on a road that people rarely reach. It seemed to be made of snow piled up in the corner.

"This is Ryan's snowman, and this is Sara's snowman. I have buttons on, too. Because I'm wearing a buttoned shirt, but Ryan doesn't have a button."

, Sara chattered with excitement. Seungjae looked at Ryan with envious eyes. Ryan's face suddenly turned red. Sara and Ryan, they were standing side by side by side!

"Let's make Seungjae’s snowman, too.”

, Ryan said. Then he sat down and gathered snow. Despite the cold wind, the heated face did not cool down and his heart thumped. Sara and Seungjae crouched side by side next to Ryan and gathered snow with him as if they knew it or not. Large snowflakes began to pile up in the village, including the bustling market.
